Rule #1: Leave the Dog at Home

Made it back in today from my first official walk. The official time is 31:31:25, and my average HR was only 105. My HR was in a lower zone averaging 116 for only 2:26.

But that’s more than I did yesterday.

I decided to leave the dog at home. I took him with me over the summer, and there’s too much stopping and starting with him. He can wait. I took him on his own walk when I returned.

I didn’t measure my distance, but given where I walked, it was probably about 1.25 mile.

That means I beat the 30 minute mile. Wow.

And this was only the first day.
